There are cities where history feels distant, preserved behind museum walls. Florence is different. Here, history remains part of everyday life, visible in every rooftop, tower and street.
I photographed this view as the sun was approaching the horizon, when the city’s warm stone colors began to blend with the golden light of the evening sky.
At the heart of the composition stands the extraordinary dome of Santa Maria del Fiore. Rising above the surrounding rooftops, it gives the city a sense of order and permanence. Around it, the buildings stretch toward the distant Tuscan hills, forming layers of architecture, landscape and fading light.
What moved me most was the harmony of the scene. The beauty of Florence does not come from a single monument alone, but from the relationship between centuries of human craftsmanship and the natural landscape surrounding the city.
As the daylight softened, the entire view seemed to become quieter. I wanted to preserve that brief moment when the city, its history and the evening light felt inseparable.
